Mr. Domerese
Greetings students, parents, guardians!
My name is Mike Domerese and I teach 7th grade Social Studies. I also help coach 7th grade softball here at Carter Middle School. Below you will find out a little more about me including my educational background, interests, family, etc.
I was raised in Clio, including attending Clio Area Schools K-12, graduating in 1991. Upon graduation I attended Mott Community College for a couple of semesters not sure exactly what life had in store for me. Then, I went on to work full time for awhile and experienced the real world. I decided to go back to college. In 2000, I returned to college in pursuit of a teaching degree. I graduated in 2005 from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education with majors in both History and Social Studies. In December 2010, I completed my Master's Degree in Secondary Education in Integrating Technology in the Classroom, from Walden University.
I also was a member of the Clio Area Fire Department from 1992-2006, when I moved to Davison. I am married and have 2 cats and dog that are very much like children! In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, camping, fishing, watching hockey and football. I am a HUGE Detroit Redwings, Detroit Lions, and Michigan Wolverines (GO BLUE!) fan. I also enjoy traveling as you can see by the caption from the picture above! Some of the places we have been include London, England; Paris, France; San Francisco, Jamaica, New Orleans (twice), Ireland, including Northern Ireland; New York City; Savannah, GA; and a 10 day trip to Prague, Czech Republic and Poland hitting both Krakow and Warsaw, including a trip to Auschwitz Concentration camp, and most recently Iceland. More trips around the globe as well as the US are on the list!
Finally, I look forward to another new and exciting year!
